Start Your Fuel Journal →Geely arrived in Paris with three cars and a clear plan for Europe. There was the all-electric EX2 hatchback, the flagship Monjaro EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV and, at the end of the presentation, the off-road-focused Project KO11. The EX2 is already available in the UK, while the other two point towards the next stage of Geely’s European expansion. Here is what it means for British buyers.
Table of Contents
In brief
- Geely EX2 is a B-segment electric hatchback with rear-wheel drive, up to 214 miles of WLTP range and a five-star Euro NCAP rating. In the UK, it starts from £20,990 on the road.
- Geely Monjaro EM-i made its European debut in Paris. It is a flagship plug-in hybrid SUV with up to 334PS, 0–62mph in 5.8 seconds and up to 72 miles of electric-only range.
- Project KO11 is an off-road-oriented plug-in hybrid SUV revealed as the presentation’s “One More Thing”. It is due in Europe towards the end of 2027.
- Geely’s UK line-up is expanding. The EX5 electric SUV, Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid and EX2 are already part of the British range; the Monjaro EM-i could become the flagship addition.
Paris 2026: why Geely came to the show
The Paris Motor Show runs from 12 to 18 October 2026 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. It remains one of Europe’s key motor shows, and Chinese manufacturers have a particularly strong presence this year. Geely held its press conference on the opening day, 12 October.
The event was led by Aiden He, Geely Brand Europe CEO and VP of Strategy & Product at Geely Auto Europe since April 2026. He has more than 20 years of automotive experience, much of it focused on building European operations and launching new brands.
Geely’s European push is backed by considerable scale:
- 3,024,567 cars sold in 2025, up 39% year on year,
- 1,687,767 electrified vehicles (NEVs), up 90% year on year,
- a presence in more than 20 major European markets.
The wider group also includes Volvo, Polestar, Lotus, smart, Lynk & Co and Zeekr, so this is not an unfamiliar name arriving out of nowhere.
Geely EX2: an electric city car from £20,990

Known as the E2 in the Paris presentation, this electric hatchback is sold in Britain as the Geely EX2. For UK buyers, it is arguably the most immediately relevant debut: the entry-level Pro costs £20,990 on the road, with the Max priced from £23,490 and the Ultra from £25,490.
At 4.13 metres long, it is a compact electric hatchback designed for town use and everyday commuting. Its key points are:
- rear-wheel drive across the range, plus multi-link rear suspension,
- up to 214 miles of WLTP range with the 47kWh battery,
- a five-star Euro NCAP rating under the tougher 2026 protocol,
- two luggage areas: a 70-litre front boot and a 375-litre rear boot, expanding to 1,320 litres with the rear seats folded.
This is not an untested newcomer. Geely says the model has recorded more than 800,000 global sales in 664 days and is already present in more than 30 markets.
Geely Monjaro EM-i: a flagship plug-in hybrid

The Monjaro EM-i is Geely’s largest and most powerful European SUV to date. It is 4.8 metres long, has a 2,845mm wheelbase and a 633-litre boot. Its EM-i Super Hybrid plug-in powertrain combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with electrification, producing 273PS in front-wheel-drive form or 334PS with all-wheel drive.
The headline figures are:
- 0–62mph in 5.8 seconds for the all-wheel-drive versions,
- up to 72 miles in electric mode and up to 573 miles in total on the WLTP cycle,
- adaptive suspension that responds in 20 milliseconds and an electric e-AWD system,
- an eight-year/124,000-mile warranty for the vehicle and battery.
The launch line was “Performance That Goes Beyond”. Geely argues that performance here means more than acceleration: it is also about long-distance comfort, confidence in poor conditions and cabin refinement. For riders and outdoor people, though, the more useful figures are a 1,500kg towing limit and V2L output of up to 6.6kW — enough to make towing a bike trailer or powering a campsite genuinely practical.
A UK price, specification and on-sale date have not yet been announced.
Project KO11: “One More Thing”

At the end of the conference, Aiden He announced one more car with the words “One More Thing”. That car was Project KO11, a next-generation, off-road-focused plug-in hybrid SUV. Geely promises strong performance, sophisticated suspension and driving modes tailored to different surfaces.
There is no official production name or technical specification yet. One detail is confirmed: the car is scheduled to reach Europe towards the end of 2027. That is still some way off, but it is a model worth watching if your idea of a weekend involves leaving the tarmac behind.
What it means for UK buyers
Geely already has three models in its UK line-up: the electric EX5 SUV, the Starray EM-i plug-in hybrid and the EX2 electric hatchback. The Paris launches suggest how the range could develop further, with the Monjaro EM-i taking on the role of a larger, more powerful flagship SUV.
Model | Type | Powertrain | UK price | UK status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
EX2 | B-segment hatchback | electric, RWD | from £20,990 OTR | on sale |
EX5 | SUV | electric | from £31,990 OTR | on sale |
Starray EM-i | C-segment SUV | plug-in hybrid | from £29,990 OTR | on sale |
Monjaro EM-i | flagship SUV | plug-in hybrid, FWD/e-AWD | not announced | UK availability not confirmed |
Project KO11 | off-road SUV | plug-in hybrid | not announced | Europe: late 2027 |
The Starray EM-i gives a good indication of Geely’s approach to the plug-in hybrid SUV market: family-car practicality, useful electric range and the ability to handle a longer trip without charging anxiety. The Monjaro EM-i takes the same basic idea into a larger, more powerful and more premium class.
